SCOTTISH Quality Salmon is supporting its SQS Club fishmonger members with an innovative and high profile consumer promotion during the summer.
Under the umbrella theme Salmon For Health, Scottish For Quality, SQS Club members will be offering shoppers attractive information leaflets, in-store prizes and a national competition prize of a highly desirable spa resort break for two.
The activity is planned to run in some 200 SQS Club fishmongers across the UK during July and August, and some 30,000 leaflets will be given away. Each store is offering a prize of a top-of-the-range back-pack style portable picnic hamper, while one national winner will enjoy the two-night break for two at Scotlands luxurious five star Westin Turnberry Resort.
The promotion will be advertised in BBC Good Food Magazine with a listing of all participating fishmongers and will be supported by local public relations activity around each store.
There is an increasing wealth of evidence about the health benefits of regular salmon consumption, commented Brian Simpson, Chief Executive of SQS, and this promotion allies those messages with information on the high quality of Tartan Quality Mark salmon in a form that consumers will undoubtedly enjoy.
The activity has prompted increased interest in membership of the SQS Club from independent fishmongers, with some 80 outlets having joined specifically in time for the promotion.
The SQS Club is an excellent way for fishmongers to benefit from targeted promotional activity on a local and national basis, he added.
