Norway exported seafood worth NOK 4.9 billion in October, an increase by 26 per cent, compared with the same month last year.
And it is also the highest export value for seafood ever registered for the month of October.
So far this year Norway has exported seafood worth NOK 31 billion, an increase by 6 per cent, compared with the same period in 2007, and also a new record.
The export of salmon in October increased by 6 per cent to 60,000 tons, while for trout the increase was a whooping 25 per cent to 7.500 tons.
France and Poland are the biggest importers of salmon, while Russia and Japan are the major importers of trout.
Th export of stockfish increased by 20 per cent in October.
