NFFO's final ports of call –

NFFO’s final ports of call Published:  02 April, 2008

ALAN McCulla, who has now been touring fishing ports on behalf of the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations (NFFO) for three months, was in Cornwall and Devon two weeks ago and will be in East Anglia for the final leg of the first round, next week.

He hopes to visit all major ports in England, Wales and Northern Ireland twice so will be starting again in a few weeks time.

He said: “So far, this tour has been invaluable for myself and the NFFO and I’m looking forward to meeting fishermen in East Anglia next week.

“It is vital that we improve the connections between fishermen within ports, and between them and the NFFO, so that we can unite and increase the pressure we can put on Defra, local councils and the Commission.”

Alan will be in East Anglia from next Monday to Wednesday, visiting fishermen in Lowestoft, Kings Lynn, Wells, Cromer and Yarmouth, as well as other ports.

All local fishermen, both members of the NFFO, and non members, whether over 10 metres or under 10 metres are welcome to meet him.

Local fishermen will be notified of meeting times/locations or can call Julia Dennison on 01904 635430 to arrange a meeting with Alan. is published by Special Publications.
