Analyst sees salmon market slipping further
Salmon production is forecast to grow by 3.5-4.0% in 2025, resulting in a slight decline in spot prices for the full year, according to the latest research from market research firm Kontali.
This growth, the firm says, is driven largely by a recovery in Norwegian and European productivity. The difference in price achievement between the first and second half of 2025 is expected to be around €3 per kg (£2.53).

Norwegian fresh salmon prices slipped further last week despite predictions they are set to recover over the next few months.
The decrease was small, however, with prices down from NOK 73.95 per kilo (£5.23) seven days earlier to NOK 73.08 per kilo (£5.17) last week.
