In the ever-evolving realm of aquaculture, WellFish Tech is recognised for its innovation and excellence. Our dedication to delivering exceptional health insights through the analysis of blood derived serum biomarkers is revolutionising the salmon and trout markets in the UK, North America, and Norway. By prioritising sustainability and productivity, we are shaping the future of fish farming.

Leading the Way in Fish Health Management
WellFish Tech’s sophisticated biomarker analysis technology delivers thorough health and welfare assessments for salmon and trout. By scrutinising key biomarkers, we offer practical insights into fish metabolism, immune function, and overall health. This proactive method enables fish farmers to identify and tackle potential health issues promptly, thereby improving growth rates and feed efficiency while promoting fish welfare.
Expanding Our Global Reach
Our operations currently extend across three significant markets, while our ambition is to expand into new regions and species in due course:
● United Kingdom: In the UK, WellFish Tech works closely with leading fish farms to deploy our advanced health monitoring systems. Our technology assists farmers in maintaining high standards of fish health, ensuring both sustaprofitable operations.
● North America: North America’s expansive aquaculture industry benefits from our innovative solutions. By collaborating with local fish farms, we provide bespoke health insights that support the growth and sustainability of salmon and trout populations.
● Norway: As a global leader in aquaculture, Norway is a crucial market for WellFish Tech. Our biomarker analysis technology plays a vital role in helping Norwegian fish farmers achieve optimal fish health and productivity, reinforcing the country’s position at the forefront of sustainable aquaculture

Introducing Our New Leadership
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Charlie Granfelt as our new CEO. Charlie brings a wealth of experience from his previous role at Skretting, a global fish feed supplier.
His visionary leadership is poised to elevate WellFish Tech, driving innovation and expanding our global presence.
‘I’m really excited to be part of this fantastic journey, with the highly skilled and professional team at Wellfish Tech. The launch of our solution is timely, not only from a health and welfare perspective, but also supporting the fish farmer’s social licence to operate, and to make business decisions that are information-based to minimize loss. Simply put, we will provide the fish with a voice, telling us how it is doing”, says Charlie.
Joining Charlie is Dr. Dave Cockerill, our newly appointed UK Director. Dr. Cockerill, a veterinarian with extensive experience in aquaculture, joins us from Bakkafrost where he was Director of Biology, and he has previously worked with Mowi. His expertise in fish health management will be instrumental in advancing our research and development efforts in the UK.
“In working within the management teams of salmon producing companies, I recognise our sector as being data-driven, and one that deals in measurable outcomes”, says Dr. Cockerill.
“Blood chemistry biomarkers provide valuable objective metrics of the physiological processes that drive fish health, welfare and productivity. I am delighted to join the WellFish team on its journey developing tools that provide prognostic insights for fish farms and fish health professionals.”
Commitment to Sustainability
At WellFish Tech, sustainability is central to our mission. Our biomarker analysis technology supports the efficient use of resources, promoting a healthier environment for both fish and humans. By delivering accurate health insights, we enable fish farmers to optimise feeding practices, reduce waste, and enhance the overall sustainability and profitability of their operations.
