Throughout his career, Gudjonsson has worked exclusively within the industry, with a strong focus on sales and marketing. His background includes selling advanced, high-tech machinery to customers worldwide. Most recently, he has worked with wastewater solutions in aquaculture.

Gudjonsson said: “I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Optimar, who share a passion for advancing the seafood industry.

“The opportunity to work with cutting-edge solutions in automation, sustainability, and operational excellence is truly motivating.”

Chief Commercial Officer Jannicke Valderhaug said he was pleased to welcome Gudjonsson to the team, adding that the appointment will benefit customers across markets.

“Gudjon brings both commercial insight and a genuine passion for the seafood industry, which fits perfectly with our culture and ambitions.”

Looking ahead, Gudjonsson said he sees a seafood industry increasingly shaped by automation, digitalisation, and sustainability.

“As global demand for seafood continues to grow, companies must adopt innovative technologies to remain competitive while ensuring responsible resource management. I believe we can contribute to a more efficient, sustainable, and resilient seafood sector,” he added.
