New Hofseth chief starts work with sustainability pledge
The new Chief Executive of the Hofseth group, one of Norway’s largest privately owned salmon companies, has led with a pledge on sustainability.
Olav Holst-Dyrnes, whose appointment was announced back in March, has just started as CEO. Highlighting Hofseth’s fully integrated value chain and ambitious sustainability agenda as the key reasons why he was drawn to the position, he said he believed the company is well placed for continued development.
He said: "Hofseth is an exciting company. The ambition to become the world’s most sustainable seafood company, combined with owning the entire value chain, was one of the key reasons I wanted this role.
"Hofseth has grown into a strong company. I hope to contribute by building on the company’s structure and continuing to unlock the great potential within Hofseth. I look forward to being part of that journey.”
Olav Holst-Dyrnes brings extensive leadership experience from the seafood and industrial sectors. He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and has also completed officer training at the Norwegian Military Academy.
Holst-Dyrnes previously served as CEO of the listed seafood company Havfisk ASA from 2012 to 2014 which is now Lerøy Havfisk.
From 2014 to 2020 he was CEO of Ekornes ASA, the internationally recognized furniture manufacturer and during this period, he also served as an independent member of the board of directors of the Danish seafood company Espersen.
In 2020, Holst-Dyrnes joined Kverva, the Witzøe family’s investment company.
