Two of Norway’s largest salmon farmers, the Lerøy Seafood Company and SalMar, have released trading updates for the final three months of last year.

The two companies are co-owners of Scottish Sea Farms, but the SSF figures will not become available until next month.
Lerøy harvested 49,300 tons of salmon and trout compared to 56,800 tons during the same period in 2024.
The harvested volume of salmon and trout for the full year 2025 was 195,600 GWT, compared to 171,200 GWT in 2024.
The final quarter harvest volumes by region for Q4 2025 (Q4 2024 figures in brackets) are: Lerøy Aurora: 16,400 tons (15,400 tons), Lerøy Midt: 16,200 tons (22,600 tons ), Lerøy Sjøtroll: 16,800 tons, of which 7,900 tons was trout (18,800 tons, of which 8,200 tons was trout).
Lerøy also owns one of Norway’s largest trawler fleets through its Lerøy Havfisk operation, and the wild catch volume during the period was 7,600 tons, of which 2,700 tons was cod. The catch volume is again lower this year due to major catch quota reductions in the Barents Sea.
The full Lerøy report will be published on 24 February.
Meanwhile, SalMar has announced a final quarter harvest of 84,100 tons, more than 10,000 tons higher than a year ago. The total 2025 harvest is estimated to be 284,500 tons.
The final SalMar quarter report will be released on 10 February.
