The British shellfish sector will be returning in force to London this month for the 54th Annual Conference of the Shellfish Association of Great Britain.

This year’s conference is being held on 28 and 29 May. All daytime sessions will take place in The Crown Estate Offices (1 St James’ Market, London). These sessions will also be livestreamed. For the Annual SAGB Fundraising Gala Black Tie Dinner, attendees will travel across London to the historic Fishmongers’ Hall for an evening of what promises to be wonderful seafood.

The conference is the annual occasion in the UK shellfish calendar, where the industry comes together to hear from Ministers (England, Wales and Scotland), amongst others, about market opportunities, management of stocks, the UK market for shellfish, international trade and more.

Other key speakers on the programme include: Matt Albon-Crouch, Food and Drink Attaché, British Embassy Vietnam; Stuart McLanaghan, Head of Responsible Sourcing, Seafish; Francis Binney & Alexander Plaster, Government of Jersey; Lynne Forman of Associated Seafoods and the Nephrops industry coalition & Linda Wood, Aquaculture & Fisheries Manager at Marks and Spencer; and Peter Lawrence, Director of Marine, The Crown Estate.

Supporting the event are Seafish, The Marine Management Organisation, Defra, The Crown Estate, Crown Estate Scotland, SEPAmatic, Welsh Government, and The Fishmongers’ Company.

Sales for in-person and Gala Dinner tickets close on 19 May. For more information see the SAGB website.
