In a significant advancement for the Scottish aquaculture sector, Vónin Scotland Ltd, a leader in aquaculture services and supplies, has received £955,000 in funding from the Scottish Government.

The grant will contribute towards the large investment required to develop a comprehensive facility for the maintenance, cleaning and treatment of fish farming nets.

Vónin’s new operation will be located adjacent to Mowi Scotland’s feed plant in Kyleakin, Skye, enhancing the infrastructure for sustainable fish farming practices.

This funding, part of the Marine Fund Scotland’s 2023 to 2024 allocations, represents a key initiative to support the marine industry post-Brexit, filling the void left by the absence of the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund.
