Moen Marin names its new chief

Moen Marin, one of the world’s largest supplier of wellboats to the aquaculture industry, has a new chief. He is Bernt Lilliestråle (pictured) who takes over as CEO on 1 March.

The company said that with an impressive background and extensive experience in the maritime sector, Lilliestråle brings “a unique combination of technical expertise and management expertise”.

He has over 25 years of experience at marine energy business Altera (previously known as Teekay), where he held several management positions in various parts of the world, most recently as Vice President, Project Definition & Contracting at Altera Infrastructure in Trondheim.

Lilliestråle ‘s international career has include roles in Canada, Norway and Asia. He received his education at NTNU, among others, with a Master’s in Technology Management.

Altera describes him as a strategic and committed leader with a passion for the sea, boats and projects”.

He said: “I am particularly motivated by a customer-focused approach, development of sustainable solutions and good teamwork.

“This commitment, the company’s management believes, will come in handy when tomorrow’s green maritime solutions are to be phased into aquaculture.”

The incoming Chairman of Moen Marin Svein Vestermo, said: “We are really looking forward to having Bernt on board and are excited about his competence and his leadership qualities. We believe that he will contribute to strengthening the company further.”

Moen Marin, now part of Scale AQ, says it is leading the way in the electrification and digitisation of the fishing and aquaculture fleet.
