Meanwhile the fully electric Fluggaboat is, also, now coded to MCA Cat 5 and is fully compliant with the workboat regulation WB3.

Top speed for the electric model is 30 knots, but an economical cruise of 25 knots gives 15 miles range before the “get home” restriction cuts in. The dash panel gives an indication of the battery charge state, available range remaining, speed and Kw with RPM and temperatures.

The electric Fluggaboat is a viable unit and meets what the farms expect as far as performance and handling are concerned.  The battery can be topped up at night, or at the barge through the day if required.  Lack of engine noise helps reduce fish stress and operation in sensitive areas.

Other boats as shown on our website www.fluggaboats.co.uk are built to the same high standard, with full coding to WB3 and electronics packages to customer requirements. All suspension seating is as standard to meet MCA recommendations.

Using aluminium and HDPE plastic as the main components means that recycling is fairly straightforward at end of life, at 20-plus years.

Fluggaboats are built as low maintenance workboats from the start, not adapted pleasure craft. The hull design with the HDPE collar still gives one of the most seaworthy and robust boats available, with all the advantages of a RIB, just harder.
