Diving is one of the riskiest activities in aquaculture operations at sea. The “framework agreement” gives Bjørøya AS predictable access to specialised expertise within HSEQ, risk assessment, operational planning and compliance with applicable regulations.

NUI, provides advanced testing, verification, and research services to support subsea operations around the world.

Bjørøya says it will take an active and clear responsibility as a client, in line with the regulatory requirements for diving in the aquaculture industry.

Both companies say that with an increased focus on safety and the working environment for divers, it is crucial that aquaculture companies know their responsibility and follow up on diving services with expertise and structure.

Bjørøya AS says it is one of the first aquaculture companies to take such a step to strengthen their internal ordering expertise. This, it believes, shows both responsibility and a long-term safety focus.

NUI AS says that last year logged over 6,700 consulting hours within diving operations to more than 40 customers.
