The Norwegian fish farming health solutions company QuantiDoc has appointed a new chief executive.
He is Jacob Grieg Eide (pictured) who has been serving as an advisor to the business for some time, but is now taking on the top management role.
Eide said: “The fish farming industry has developed enormously in recent years. At the same time, we all recognize that the requirements are becoming increasingly clear – for fish welfare, documentation, predictability and sustainability.
“If we are to continue to succeed, I believe one thing will be absolutely crucial: that the industry gets better tools to move from reactive to proactive operations.”
He says that experience from inside QuantiDoc show that without continuous immune control further scaling becomes riskier and less predictable.
“I simply believe that it will be very challenging to achieve sustainable scaling of the aquaculture industry without a strong and robust immune system. Without it, the fish will not withstand the stress that modern farming actually entails” he added.
Based in Bergen, QuantiDoc says it is dedicated to providing proactive barrier health solutions for the global fish farming industry.
It adds: “Our flagship product, VERIBARR™, revolutionises fish health management through advanced technology and scientific expertise.
Eide said: “We are the only company in the world that can deliver continuous immune monitoring in practice.
“Furthermore, he looks forward to bringing the technology closer to the industry and continuing to work with a highly competent and dedicated team, and to meeting the industry for open and constructive conversations about how this can be used in practice – for better decisions, stronger fish health and more robust value creation, both in hatchery and food fish.”
