Katherine Bryar, Global Marketing Director at aquafeed group BioMar, is returning to her native country as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer with Murray Cod Australia, producer of the Aquna brand.

Bryar takes up her new role on 1 February 2026. She has been with BioMar, based in Denmark, since 2017, and her career has included senior marketing roles with New Zealand King Salmon (Ōra King and Regal King Salmon brands), Australian Eggs, and contributions to United Nations food systems and sustainability programs.
An advocate for aquaculture internationally, Bryar is a co-founder of Fed By Blue, a science-led education campaign to broaden access to responsibly produced “blue” (ocean-based) food and has been a board member of Oceans 2025 and Sustainable Brands Oceans.
Murray Cod Australia said: “In her new role, Katherine will drive the domestic and international growth strategy, focusing on expanding sales channels, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing the Aquna Murray Cod brand.
“Welcome, Katherine — we’re excited to have you on board!”
Through its Aquna brand, Murray Cod Australia is the world’s leading producer of premium sustainably grown Murray cod, grown on innovative pond farms located in the Murray-Darling basin in New South Wales.
Despite its name, Murray cod, an indigenous freshwater fish, is no relation to the Atlantic fish of the same name, but its succulent white flesh makes it a premium product in Australia and beyond.
