The Lerøy Seafood Group is preparing to report an increase of 7,700 tonnes for its salmon and trout harvest for the period between July and September this year.
The group today issued a third quarter trading update which shows a production total of 59,100 tonnes against 51,400 tonnes a year ago.
There was a large increase in trout output which is growing in popularity on world markets.
These figures exclude harvest volumes from Scottish Sea Farms, which the group is expected to include when the full third quarter report is published next month.
The harvest volumes by region are as follows (Q3 figures in brackets) Lerøy Aurora: 20,100 tonnes (17,600 tonnes) Lerøy Midt: 21,400 tonnes (16,900 tonnes) Lerøy Sjøtroll: 17,600 tonnes of which 10,400 tonnes was trout (16,800 tonnes of which 6,800 tonnes was trout).
Lerøy’s overall wild fish catch volume was more or less unchanged during the period, totalling 13,500 tonnes of which 1,200 tonnes was cod, 300 tonnes down on a year ago.
The complete Q3 2025 report will be released on 12 November.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian land based farming company Salmon Evolution has announced stable operational results in the third quarter, with minimal mortality and all-time high biomass production. Q3 operational summary:
It announced a harvest of 1,387 tonnes (HOG) with all-in price realisation of NOK 61 per kilo. The average harvest weight of 3.5 kg HOG, up 20% from last quarter. It has a standing biomass of just over 3,000 tonnes.
CEO Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen said salmon prices recovered in September on the back of negative year-on-year growth in Norwegian biomass, supporting an increasingly tight supply-demand balance into 2026.
"With a full facility and steadily improving production and slaughter weights, Salmon Evolution is well positioned to capitalise on this,” he added.
