A feed boat worker is reported to have died in an accident in the Stavanger area of Norway this week.

The man, who has not yet been named, is thought to be in his thirties, according to local newspaper reports.
Local police say the man was crushed in the accident, which took place at Dusavika in Stavanger on Wednesday morning. His next of kin have been notified.
The incident took place on board the feed vessel “Eidsvaag Marin” which is reported to have been docked at the time.
Eidsvaag’s General Manager, Vidar Eidsvaag, told the local newspaper Hitra-Frøya: “It’s a deeply tragic accident with the worst possible outcome. It’s the worst thing that could happen.”
“We don’t know much about the accident itself. The police and the Accident Investigation Board Norway will investigate the matter further.
“My thoughts go out to the deceased’s family and colleagues. You come close to each other in our profession. As a company, we follow up on our employees and also have contact with family.”
Concern has been growing in Norway recently over the number of fatal and serious injury accidents in the fish farming industry, which has a higher occupational risk than most other sectors.
According to the latest available figures, there have been 38 fatal accidents between 1982 and 2022.
Many of the accidents take place on fish farm vessels or in diving incidents, but one worker was killed in an explosion at a fish farm two years ago.
Both the aquaculture industry and government regulators are currently working on measures to address safety concerns
