This marks the return of World Aquaculture to India after the successful Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2019 event in Chennai. 

World Aquaculture 2025 INDIA will take place at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre – Novotel from November 10-13, 2025.   

 

This marks the return of World Aquaculture India after the successful Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2019 (APA19) event in Chennai. With Aquaculture continuing to grow rapidly in the Asian-Pacific region and particularly in India, the 2025 event is the perfect time for the World Aquaculture community to focus on India again at Hyderabad. 

 

With the theme “Aquaculture: Opportunities, Options, and Optimism,” the event will highlight India’s growing role in global aquaculture through expert sessions, a premier trade exhibition, and collaborative forums.

 

Plenary speaker - Dr S. Ayyappan – ’IndAqua: Farmed Fish For Future’. 

Prof.  S. Ayyappan, with a Master’s Degree in Fisheries Science, has a Ph.D. in Aquatic Microbiology. His specific areas of research are Fisheries, Freshwater Aquaculture and Aquatic Microbiology.  With several assignments during the scientific career for four decades, he has served as the Director, CIFA, Bhubaneswar  & CIFE, Mumbai; Deputy Director General (Fisheries), ICAR; Chief Executive, NFDB, Hyderabad; Secretary, DARE, Govt. of India & Director General, ICAR, New Delhi; President, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi; NABARD Chair Professor; Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal; Chairman, KSTA, Bengaluru & NABL, Gurgaon, India. He has been conferred D.Sc. (honoris causa) by 15 Universities and is a recipient of several awards including Padma Shri, 2022 and Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, 2013. Representing the country in important international fora, the interactions have developed a deep understanding and widened the horizon of his vision of Food & Agriculture, Fisheries & Aquaculture, especially in the Developing countries.

 

The Second Plenary Speaker Dr Manuel Barrange – ADG – FAO also confirmed.
