WATROPUR Sludge dryer

WATROPUR design, manufacture and maintain dryers for sludge from industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants, as well as for Aquaculture sludge.

WATROPUR is a Swiss company with a production company in Croatia and worldwide sales companies.

Since 1992 WATROPUR has supplied 3000 drying plants to over 50 countries. With the first sludge dryer for the Aquaculture industry supplied in 2013 to a land-based Salmon farm in Norway. 

• WATROPUR dryers treat sludge in one step from 2 % to 90 % dried solids.
• The WATROPUR drying technology does not use heat for drying, but cold and dry air.
• The dried sludge has more Nitrogen than with dryers who use heat.
• Utilising dehumidification heat pump technology

Most of Watropur’s customers sell the dried sludge as an additive for fertilizers.

WATROPUR manufacture:

• Liquid-Dryers (belt dryer with integrated screw press)
• Press-Dryers (Screw press on top of belt dryer)
• Container-Dryer (for sludge from big filter presses)
• Skip-Dryers (for sludge from small filter presses).

All systems are key finished and tested in our factory before shipment. The startup is short. Because of the cold temperature, and the fact that drying air is used in a cycle, there is no waste air treatment needed, no emissions, no smell, no ATEX conditions and no permits needed.

The smallest dryer separates 100 kg water/day, the biggest more than 100 tons water per day. The OPEX costs are the same for all type of our dryers from 333 kW electric energy to separate one tonne of water. No other energy source or costs are needed.
