Ice Fish Farm CEO signals he wants to step back
Guðmundur Gíslason, the CEO of Ice Fish Farm, has given notice to the board of directors, that he wants to resign his position to further focus on developing the company’s future sales strategy.
Gíslason has headed the Icelandic company from its early stages and through to a period of strong growth.
He told the board: “Being CEO for Ice Fish has been an incredible journey together with great colleagues in high growth rate and the establishment of a new and sustainable industry in Iceland over the past 12 years.
“I very much look forward to continuing to work for and support the Company going forward by continuing to develop markets for Ice Fish Farm,” he said.

Company chairman Asle Rønning said: “Gudmundur has been a true entrepreneur and leader of Ice Fish since 2012 in a period where the Company has gone from the idea stage to a key player in a new sustainable Icelandic industry.
“I am very grateful for the efforts he has contributed and look forward to our continued collaboration in the years to come.”
Rønning said the board of directors, will start the process to recruit a new CEO but expects that it may take some months so in the meantime Gudmundur Gislason will continue as CEO until the new one replaces him.
The Norwegian fish farming group Måsøval Eiendom is the main shareholder in Ice Fish Farm, and earlier this year it entered into a strategic partnership with the Icelandic fishing company Ísfélag Vestmannaeyja to help take the business forward.
