Preparations for the upcoming 3rd Annual International Conference and Exposition of the African Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society (AFRAQ2024), were given a boost last week following signature of the hosting agreement by the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies (INSTM), on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Tunisia. This special gesture means the Government of Tunisia and its associated institutions are fully committed to collaborate with WAS in ensuring smooth organisation of the event. AFRAQ24 takes place in Hammamet, Tunisia on 19-22 November. In addition to government support, key locally based aquaculture companies in Tunisia have expressed their support to the event by offering AFRAQ24 guests an opportunity to tour their offshore seabream and seabass facilities in the Mediterranean. These companies are directly linked to AFRAQ24’s Gold Sponsor, Nutrifish, which specialises in the processing and distribution of commercial aquafeeds. Nutrifish has a state-of-the-art aquafeed mill with capacity of up to 30,000 tonnes per year. These and several other companies are expected to feature at an organised pavilion within AFRAQ24 Exhibition.
