Top line up for Aviemore opener

AQUACULTURE UK kicks off tomorrow morning with a line up of top industry speakers in the conference sessions being held alongside the main exhibition. In the first event, which starts at 10.30am, Fish Farmer columnist Nick Joy will share his views on the state of the industry today.
Joy, a founder and former managing director of Loch Duart, is an outspoken advocate of aquaculture and is known throughout the sector. He joins a team from MSD Animal Health, who will discuss the challenges and solutions of fish health.
MSD specialists – including Campbell Morrison, Dafydd Morris, Chris Gould and Camilla Macdonald – will give presentations on vaccination best practice and provide a  technical update.
Ronnie Soutar of Aqualife and Jason Cleaversmith of the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre will offer further insights into fish health issues.
Aquaculture UK, in Aviemore from May 25-26, will stage conference sessions on both days of the exhibition in easily accessible tents in the main expo area. Also on the agenda are consumer demand, post-smolt production in RAS, selective breeding, and the effect of farmed fish on wild catches. Dr  Martin Jaffa, Ivar Warrer-Hansen and Dr Adam Hughes are among the distinguished speakers.
