Salmon Evolution chooses Maritech for new land project

Salmon Evolution, the Norwegian land based salmon farming company, has chosen Maritech Digital Seafood cloud software to handle all processes related to seafood sales and trading.

An announcement said: “We are pleased to share the news that Salmon Evolution now will be implementing Maritech Purchase & Sales, Maritech´s leading cloud solution tailored for seafood trading.”

Salmon Evolution’s first facility is currently under construction at Indre Harøy on Norway’s west coast where phase one, due to supply 9,000 tonnes annually, is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

“Maritech was a natural choice for us,” says Odd Frode Roaldsnes, chief commercial officer at Salmon Evolution.

He continued: “We are co-operating closely with Vikenco, who will handle all packing and processing of our land-based salmon, and we target seamless integrations between our systems and their production, packing, and processing solutions.

Maritech Systems AS is seen as a leading provider of software and analytics tools to the seafood industry and a recognised partner for several of the world’s largest companies.

Established in 2017 and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, Salmon Evolution is a relatively new land-based salmon farmer. The company´s first facility is under construction on the at Indre Harøy in Møre og Romsdal county.

The first construction phase will provide an annual round weight capacity of 9,000 tonnes of fish, rising to 36, 000 tonnes on completion.

The global expansion plan envisages a total annual output of about 70,000 tonnes.

Last year, Salmon Evolution formed a close partnership with Dongwon Industries, one of the world’s leading seafood companies, to build a fish farm on land in South Korea.
