Russian salmon giant sees first half revenues soar
Inarctica, Russia’s largest commercial salmon and sea trout producer, saw its revenues rise by 38% in the first six months of this year.
The company says it earned 13.8 billion rubles (£125m) for the half year ended 30 June.
It said the sales volume increased by 57% year-on-year to 13,200 tons, driven by the recovery of fish biomass in water and strong demand for fresh red fish on the Russian market.
The revenue rise was due to increased sales volumes amid more conservative average market prices for red fish.
Inarctica also said the fish biomass in water at the end of June 2026 increased to 27,700 tons, which is 33% more than the previous year.
The company’s Deputy Director, General Andrey Baranov, said: “Revenue for the first half of the year was driven by increased sales volumes, albeit at a more moderate pace than the actual sales volumes.
“At the beginning of the year, price pressure remained in the red salmon market, although prices have stabilised in recent months. “
He added: “The operational momentum achieved forms the basis for further improvement in financial performance and the implementation of medium-term production expansion plans."
Inarctica currently operates five smolt farms in Russia and is building a fish feed plant in Veliky Novgorod, in western Russia.
