THE National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations (NFFO) is sponsoring Skipper Expo Int. Bristol 2018, underlining its importance as a fisheries showcase in England and Wales.
The NFFO will also have a stand at the expo, where it will be highlighting the range of the work it does on behalf of its members.
Federation chief executive Barrie Deas said it was important to support the event, especially since it was now so well-established in the fishing industry calendar.
‘There is a real need for a fishing expo of this type for England, Wales, and indeed further afield, which is why we are delighted to support it this year, especially since we are now entering a crucial period for UK fishing with Brexit looming,’ he said.
The main focus on the NFFO stand will be providing information on how the federation is working to get the best possible deal for fishing post-Brexit, as well as covering topics such as the landings obligation, safety at sea and Marine Protected Areas.
Sharon Boyle of show organiser Mara Media said: ‘We are thrilled that the NFFO is sponsoring Skipper Expo Int. Bristol 2018 and I would like to express my thanks for their support. The event will once again be a great show, with plenty to interest visitors.’
The exhibition will be held at the Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, on Thursday, September 27, and Friday, September 28. Free entry with complimentary parking and wifi on-site. Opening times: Thursday 10am to 5pm, Friday 10am to 3pm.
