The company said that the first fry has recently been transferred from the hatchery to the large fry house with the entire group being transferred a week later.

With this, the large fry house was officially put into operation and is now working according to plan, the company said.

Laxey said: “This marks an important milestone in the development of Laxey and strengthens the company’s production capacity for the future.

“The large-scale hatchery is an important addition to Laxey’s rearing operations. By creating additional space for larger fish earlier in the production process, the hatchery increases operational flexibility, improves infrastructure utilization, and contributes to a more efficient production flow.”

The fry house consists of eight tanks, each with a water volume of 1,050 cubic metres , making a total of 8,400 cubic metres.

It was built in just 10 months, which, says the company, was a remarkable achievement and a testament to the ambition, energy and professionalism that has characterized the project from the beginning.

Laxey added: “This milestone would not have been achieved without the contributions of the staff, contractors, suppliers and partners who have contributed to the development.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this project. This milestone shows what can be achieved with good collaboration and a shared vision.”
