JCS Fish joins sustainable supplier platform

The team at salmon specialist JCS Fish

Salmon specialist JCS Fish of Grimsby has been listed on the FishChoice platform, joining a growing number of seafood suppliers who are choosing to highlight the sustainability of their products by offering transparency in their supply chains.
FishChoice matches sustainability information to supplier’s seafood products. It was founded eight years ago in the US but has a growing database of European suppliers. FishChoice Supplier Members range from fishing companies and aquaculture operations to distributors and manufacturers. Each company has both a profile page and a product page for each species they sell, offering clear information about their sources to enable sustainability comparisons.
Joining FishChoice underlines JCS Fish’s continued commitment to responsible sourcing and complements its existing listing on the Ocean Disclosure Project website. The company buys direct from its Scottish suppliers, both standard salmon certified as responsibly sourced to the Global Gap standard for sustainable aquaculture and certified Organic fish.
Jack Coulbeck of JCS Fish said: “Joining FishChoice gives us the opportunity to further clarify our position and lends added confidence to our customers in our commitment to the highest sourcing standards and sustainable practices. We are delighted to have the opportunity to stand alongside a global network of similarly minded seafood suppliers on the FishChoice platform.”
