Impressive array of boatyards Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014
There will be many boatyards exhibiting at Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014 and the two most recent ones to confirm their attendance are first time exhibitors C. Toms and Son Ltd of Fowey in Cornwall, and Robust Boats Ltd of Pembrokeshire in Wales.
At the expo, C. Toms and Son will be focusing on its boat building activities, highlighting to fishermen the nationwide reputation it enjoys for producing quality fishing craft for customers from all corners of the UK. Vessels are built to customer specifications in either steel or wood, and up to 16m in length. Two new vessels have already been completed this year and another couple of vessels are currently under construction.
“We will also be promoting our vessel repair and maintenance services at Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014,” says Karen Toms of C. Toms and Son. “We are looking forward to meeting with fishermen at the show.”
Robust Boats will be displaying a fully fitted-out Robust 21c featuring a hull constructed from 5mm aluminium. Certified to current Seafish standards, the vessel is set-up of potting and netting, and features a Solent Engineering Services combined pot and net hauler, along with twin Yamaha 60hp four stroke outboards. It also features a small offset wheelhouse and is completed with all hydraulic systems and marine electronics.
Steve Rees of Robust Boats said: “These are versatile and stable craft. The strong yet light aluminium hull construction offers several advantages, including greater performance, better fuel efficiency and easier trailering.”
Other boatyards attending Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014 are Arklow Marine, Maver Boats, Anderson Marine, G Smyth Boats, Mashfords, Audacious Marine, and Go Marine UK. Also exhibiting will be naval architect Ian C Darley.
Sharon Boyle of show organiser Mara Media said: “The number of boat yards and vessel displays we have this year is incredible. We know from past experience that these are among the most popular features of our fisheries shows, and we are anticipating a strong visitor turnout.”
Bournemouth has a fantastic selection of hotels and guest houses to suit all budgets, making it the perfect place to visit for those thinking of staying over for both days of the expo.
