Fish farmer Bremnes Seashore has become a shareholder in Salmon Group, a consortium of 41 fish farmers in Norway that aims to champion local ownership and interaction with local communities.
As a shareholder, Bremnes Seashore will also take part in Salmon Group’s innovative collaboration on feed, which earlier this year branched out into insect-based products.
The Norwegian company Bremnes Seashore from Bømlo is a family business and a pioneer in salmon farming. It produces the SALMA brand primarily for home consumption in Norway and BÖMLO is Bremnes Seashore’s brand for quality salmon that we distribute to selected export markets in Europe and Asia.
Jan Olav Langeland, CEO of Salmon Group said: “Salmon Group is very pleased to welcome a company who has such a good eye for the important drivers…. we are very confident that Bremnes Seashore is an aquaculture farmer who will fit well in our network.
Einar Eide, CEO of Bremnes Seashore commented: “We have a common set of values with the other owners in Salmon Group, a group of salmon and trout farmers who are at the forefront of the development of sustainable farming. All companies will contribute to activity and jobs in the local communities along the coast.”
In June 2020, Bremnes opened the first all-electric salmon farm, which was hailed as an environmental trailblazer for the industry.
