ASL smoked salmon in prize shortlist

ASSOCIATED Seafoods Ltd (ASL) has been shortlisted for a prestigious North East Scotland Food & Drink Award for its Scottish Twice Smoked Salmon.
Developed for Marks & Spencer, the product has been selected as a finalist in the Best New Retail Product (51 and above employees) category at the North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards.
Using a novel technique developed by the company’s master smokers, the salmon is carefully cured in salt and then twice smoked for the perfect flavour and texture.
Neil Greig, commercial director for ASL, said: ‘We are delighted to have been selected as a finalist in these awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation across North East’s food and drink sector.
‘Our Scottish Twice Smoked Salmon has proved very popular with consumers and the success of the product is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our employees.’
The North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards are delivered in partnership by Opportunity North East (ONE) and Aberdeenshire Council.  The award winners will be announced at a special event at the Ardoe House Hotel near Aberdeen on Thursday, March 30.
