Aquanor decision postponed until later this week

The decision on whether Aquanor, one of aquaculture’s biggest trade shows, can go ahead as an in-person event has been postponed pending a decision by the Norwegian government on health grounds.

Aquanor 2021 was due to take place in Trondheim, Norway over 24-27 August as a “hybrid” event, combining in-person speakers ad attendees with a digital programme for those who could not make it to the venue.

The organisers had hoped to confirm today whether Covid-19 restrictions would allow this format to go ahead, but in a statement released this afternoon they said: “New guidelines are expected from the Norwegian government later this week. Therefore, the Board has postponed its decision on whether there will be an exhibition in Trondheim Spectrum or if the exhibition will be fully digital, until the government announces the new guidelines.

“We are hoping for positive signals, indicating that a physical version of the exhibition can be executed in August. Therefore, we are waiting a few extra days with the final decision.”

The deadline for cancelling hotel reservations without incurring additional costs has been extended to 31 May.

More information on the digital programme can be found at the Aquanor website.
