Production Manager – Cassowary Coast Region, Australia

MainStream Aquaculture Queensland is a rapidly growing aquaculture business that produces premium and sustainably farmed Barramundi. Operating in one of Australia’s most beautiful and pristine tropical environments, our pond farms are BAP certified with a commitment to conservation and sustainability.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Production Manager. With Mainstream operating five farms throughout Australia, this role is situated in the Cassowary Coast region, nestled between rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.

We are looking for self-motivated and passionate candidates with the ability to handle a diverse fast paced workload. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering results within the aquaculture industry. You will work closely with the management and operations teams to ensure the smooth delivery of all aspects of daily production and dispatch operations of our farm fresh Barramundi.

Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in all operational processes and practices across the aquaculture operations.
• Participate in the procurement activities for aquaculture operations.
• Participate in harvest and dispatch activities for the business.
• Operation and general maintenance of farm plant and equipment, including the completion of necessary checklists.
• Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures, Food Safety and Workplace Health & Safety Systems ensuring a high standard of operation.
• Participate in the review and improvement of standard operating procedures for aquaculture operations.
• Participating in the weekend and on-call rosters; flexible with duties and hours of work.

• Previous experience in the aquaculture industry
• Willing to reside in the local or surrounding area
• Current driving licence
• Strong work ethics and commitment to the role
• Ability to lead a team to systematically complete daily tasks
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all members of the team
• Ability to problem solve and prioritise tasks
• Read, interpret and apply relevant written and electronic workplace quality systems and procedures to everyday tasks

Desirable Requirements:
• HR licence
• Forklift licence
• Previous experience operating machinery
