Seafish has a very clear purpose to help secure a sustainable and profitable future for the UK seafood industry.
Seafish covers everything from individual fishermen, importers and processors, to multiple retailers and fish and chip shops. Equally importantly, we have the needs of the consumer in mind, talking to the people who buy and eat seafood.
To help us achieve our goals, Seafish has developed a strategy focused on activities that have a real purpose and benefit, and we are looking for talented individuals to join us in this exciting next phase.
Based in Grimsby the applicant must be educated to degree or postgraduate degree level in a natural science, you will have a sound understanding of population dynamic models. Knowledge of the sustainability assessment of seafood supplies would be desirable. Some experience of applied science and a postgraduate qualification in population dynamics or marine ecology would be desirable. The capacity to build relationships across science, industry and environmental organisations, in order to find innovative approaches to sustainability issues is an essential attribute.
