Final ten announced in Norwegian green concession round01 July, 2014 –
THE final ten nominations of the green concession round in Norway have been announced by the Norwegian expert committee.
Altogether, 19 salmon farmers have been nominated for 45 green licences which, if in full effect, will increase salmon production in Norway by 55,000 tonnes (4 per cent) annually.
Norwegian company Norway Royal Salmon has ten nominations, which will increase its production capacity by around 40 per cent; Salmar received eight nominations and Cermaq gained seven.
Other companies who gained concessions included Wilsgård, Grieg Seafood, plus Marine Harvest and Lerøy Seafood, who were both nominated for the very first time.
