Aquaculture award finalists announced06 February, 2014 –
LANTRA has announced the finalists in its Land-based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year Awards 2013.
The awards, sponsored by Marine Scotland, celebrate the achievements of young people and new entrants within the two industries.
The finalists in the category of Aquaculture Learner of the Year (sponsored by Marine Harvest) are: Andrew Cunningham, aged 20 from Lochgilphead, who is undertaking a Modern Apprenticeship SVQ Level 2 in Aquaculture Fin Fish with the Scottish Salmon Company.
Simon Maclellan, aged 26 from Drumnadrochit, Inverness-Shire, who is studying for an SVQ Level 2 in Aquaculture at Inverness College UHI and working with Marine Harvest Scotland.
The award winners from all 13 award categories will be announced at Lantras Land-based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year Awards 2013, which take place on 6 March at the Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel.
The awards are organised by Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for land-based, aquaculture and environmental industries, and will be attended by key figures from across industry and government including Angela Constance, Scottish Minister for Youth Employment.
