Young’s Seafood is increasing its use of Vietnamese reared Basa fish with the launch of its  latest Chip Shop range product –   bite-size  Mini Fillets.

They are made  with 100 per cent Basa fillet – succulent and increasingly popular white fish with a soft texture and mild flavour. Young’s, one of the first major seafood producers to bring Basa to the UK,  is also promoting  the health benefits  –  by highlighting the fact they contains less than three per cent saturated fat and  have no bones. The company says they make an ideal mid-week meal option for young families and children.

Young’s says the addition of new Mini Fillets to the existing range ensures there is a Chip Shop favourite to satisfy the tastes and needs of every consumer. With more families choosing to dine-in at home, it’s increasingly important to offer a range of products that appeal to everyone and the unique format of Mini Fillets are perfect for smaller appetites.

Their small size also makes them the perfect finger food to dip and share whilst the mild flavour of the fish dipped in Chip Shop’s unique crisp bubbly batter ensures they appeal to ‘fish-fearful’ adults and children alike. They are available in most of the large supermarket chains.

The company said: “We use  the best quality Basa for its new Mini Fillets, farmed in the fresh waters of Vietnam. The fish are filleted by hand and frozen within one hour of leaving the water to ensure the fresh flavour and healthy nutrients are locked-in at the natural source. As with all Young’s products, Chip Shop Mini Fillets carry the company’s Fish for Life accreditation on-pack, confirming that the fish used has been responsibly sourced.
