The Saucy Fish Co. has today announced that from 9 March 2014 consumers in the US will be able to enjoy the brand’s distinctive fish and sauce combinations as the successful Grimsby, UK-based company expands into the American market just in time for Lent.

This move to the US follows the international listing in Norway in February 2013 and demonstrates the brand’s global ambitions.

The Saucy Fish Co. will be sold in 390 Giant Carlisle and Giant Landover stores, which are based in eight states throughout the North East. The two sister Giant retailers are leading supermarket brands across the mid-Atlantic and are both a subsidiary of Ahold, the Dutch international retailer, who moved into the United States in the 1970s.The initial product line up will include three fish and sauce products, two of the brand’s innovative Foil Bake Bag products and two from the new range of Ready to Enjoy Salmon. The selection of seven products heading Stateside include two new products designed specifically for the US market which reflect the nation’s palate.The new products include Salmon with a Sweet Soy & Chili dressing and Tilapia with a Thai Sauce Foil Bake Bag. Other products include the best-selling Salmon with Chili, Lime and Ginger, Tilapia with Mango & Chili Dressing, Foil Bake Bag Salmon with Sweet Chili Dressing, Ready to Enjoy Steamed Salmon with Lime and Cilantro Dressing and Ready to Enjoy Roasted Sweet Chili Salmon with Tomato & Chili Chutney.The Saucy Fish Co. brand launched in the UK in January 2010 aiming to provide shoppers with the inspiration and ease to cook fish confidently at home.
