Success as seafood company scoops national award Published: 20 December, 2007
IT was a moment of anticipation followed by exhilaration as Lossie Seafoods beat off stiff competition to be crowned Food Exporter of the Year at the prestigious Food from Britain Food and Drink Export Awards 2007.
The company, which specialises in producing quality Scottish smoked salmon, concentrates almost 100 per cent of its business on exporting and enjoyed a 33 per cent increase in sales this year alone. By sourcing small, family-owned distributors and forging links with a variety of established and more unique export countries, the company has created a successful global export business.
Charles Devin, Export Director at Lossie Seafoods, commented: Winning this award means the world to us. The last three years have been incredible export-wise and this truly is fantastic recognition of all the hard work that we have put in.
John Cowe, Director at Lossie Seafoods, added: We really hope to build on this, using it wisely as a platform for future development on the international side of our business.”
Lossie Seafoods has shown tremendous dedication to exporting its goods and has realised the benefits that developing international sales can have on overall business performance, commented John Adams, Chief Executive of Food from Britain. This award is testament to the hard work of a small, dedicated team and I have no doubt that Lossie Seafoods will continue to have resounding success in the future.
Now in their 11th successful year, the Food from Britain Export Awards bring together the cream of the countrys export companies to recognise achievements and celebrate success from across the UKs food and drink industry.
