THE Peterhead-based North East of Scotland Fishermen’s Organisation Limited (NESFO), has announced the appointment of Robert Stevenson to the newly created post of assistant chief executive.

Mr Stevenson, who will move from Mallaig where he has been chief executive of the West of Scotland Fish Producers’ Organisation, will take up the appointment shortly and will work closely with chief executive Mark Dougal to assist in the strategic and operational running of the organisation.

Well known in fishing industry circles,Mr Stevenson started his career as a Fishery Officer.

Mr Stevenson commented: “I am delighted to take up this position with NESFO. These are exciting times for the fishing industry and I am looking forward to the challenges which lie ahead.”

Welcoming the appointment, Donald Anderson, NESFO’s chairman added: “Robert’s experience will be of great benefit to NESFO. Robert will work closely with Mark in the running of the PO ensuring that we continue to deliver an effective service to our members.”
