THE SEAFOOD industry in the Belgian ports of Zeebrugge, Oostende and Nieuwpoort, generated total revenue of €33.44 million in the first half of 2002, down 1 per cent year-on-year, the Belgian Agriculture Ministry has said.

The decrease was due to the low prices of sole. Revenue from the sole fishery decreased to €17.84 million for the first half of 2002. No comparative figures were available.
