Shetland Rolls Out New Products European Fish Trader Published:  02 December, 2002

AS part of a new product development initiative sponsored by the Scottish Enterprise-funded Scottish Fish Processing Action Plan, the Shetland Smokehouse, situated in the village of Skeld, on Shetland’s West coast is rolling out a new range of dairy free, kosher, low fat seafood, deli type products.

The product development programme runs for a further year and is aimed at helping small to medium size businesses by offering free consultancy for new product development.

Dave Hammond, managing director of of Shetland Smokehouse said of the initiative, “This is a genuinely useful project, helping to kick start ideas that have lain dormant, usually due to operational pressures within a small company”
