A M Seafoods has appointed ProjectLink, part of the Gilcrest Group, to design and build a new shellfish processing facility at its site in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

The new 1,440 sq metre facility will provide A M Seafoods with the extra capacity it needs to meet growing demand.  Completion is expected by autumn 2011.

ProjectLink, which is based at Avonmouth, near Bristol, specialises in handling design and build projects for food industry clients, including Cornish seafood processor, Falfish, and in-flight meal specialist Barton & White of Leicestershire.  The Fleetwood contract is worth £850,000.

Managing director Darren Williams, said: “We are delighted to be working as designer and main contractor on this project and to have won the job largely as a result of recommendation.”

Mark Merrick of AM Seafoods said: “We have been very pleased with the design and planning service offered by Project Link and are now looking forward to our building taking shape. Their professional approach and high levels of service means that we can focus on growing our business while Project Link grows our facilities.”

ProjectLink are also working with Lancashire County Council on the design of A M’s site on Fleetwood’s planned new fish processing park.  A M plans to relocate to the park when it is completed in three to five years’ time.
