SEAFISH is taking a key role in promoting and participating in the second Trans-Atlantic Fisheries Technology Conference (TAFT). The conference, which is held every three years, will bring together researchers and industry from over 22 European countries, Canada and the USA. Seafish are calling for key note speakers, conference speakers and attendees from the UK to participate and bring their views, experience and expertise to the conference. Taking place in Quebec City from 29 October-1 November 2006, the conference programme reflects the latest scientific and technical advances as well as issues that affect both the catching and aquaculture sectors. This year the theme is ‘Health and Innovative Products from the Sea’ and the spotlight will be on aquatic product processing technology, aquaculture, quality, sustainability, efficiency and safety. The conference will also be hosting the 36th Western European Fish Technologists Association (WEFTA) meeting, at which Seafish will be representing the UK.To view the programme, attend or participate as a speaker visit http://www.aftc.ca/TAFT2006/
