Environmental Assessment Support Officer
Salary circa £28,000
Seafish is a pan-UK body providing research and promotional support to the seafood industry.
The organisation is developing an innovative, can do approach which will deliver a broad range of
services to stakeholders ranging from food chain efficiency to responsible fishing initiatives.
A new post has been created to advise and assist the inshore sector of the industry, on meeting
their legal obligations regarding sustainability, and ensure minimal adverse impact on the marine
environment. Effective communication and liaison with industry, conservation agencies, Inshore
Managers and regulators will be key to the success of the role. The job will suit someone who is
educated to degree level ideally in an environmental science and has relevant working experience
of the fishing and aquaculture industry. An excellent communicator with the ability to persuade
and influence, you must have good organisational abilities and be computer literate.
The position will be based at our Hull office and will involve extensive travel around the UK. Initially
a two year contract supported by FIFG funding, it is expected to extend beyond this timeframe.
