SEAFISH has recipe books up for grabs in a competition to celebrate Seafood Week.

TO celebrate Seafood Week 2006, Seafish is giving away ten copies of Scottish chef Nick Nairn’s new book, Fish ‘N’ Tips.

‘2 a week’ is the theme for this year’s Seafood Week which runs from 6-13 October and is encouraging everybody to eat at least two portions of seafood a week. The Food Standards Agency recommends eating at least two portions of seafood a week, one of which should be oil-rich, such as mackerel or salmon.

Nick Nairn is backing Seafish’s new ‘2 a week’ campaign and is encouraging everyone to get their two portions a week.

He said: “Seafood is one of the easiest things to cook with. The opportunities are endless and you can tailor it to your mood whether you feel like a hearty bowl of pasta or a simple salad. It’s also incredibly low in fat so is the ultimate health food. Try to buy locally caught seafood from your local fishmonger or supermarket – the fresher the tastier.”
