SDI to take stand at Japan Seafood Expo Published:  18 June, 2013

The Scottish Development International (SDI) Tokyo team is calling for Scottish seafood producers to take part in the Japan International Seafood Expo.

The expo is the region’s major trade exhibition which in 2012 was attended by more than 26,000 visitors and with presences from 13 international countries as well as Japan.

SDI is taking a 16 sq m stand at the show which will have strong Scottish branding and which will showcase products in a communal area. Processors will also have the option to attending in person.

This is being seen as an opportunity to increase exposure and raise awareness for high quality, premium seafood available from Scotland, by showcasing and offering tastings of products already available in the market as well as introducing new products and companies.

Key objectives are :

To offer Scottish companies a strong umbrella brand under which to showcase their products to the, predominantly, Far East market; To help processors identify new contacts in these markets and generate potential new sales leads; To raise awareness in the Region of Scottish capability in the Seafood and Salmon sectors; To reaffirm and further strengthen the reputation of Scotland as a producer and exporter of high quality Seafood and Salmon

There will be no individual company booths but there will be an open, communal space with sampling of products and provision of company/product and sector literature.

Any company wishing to be involved, either by attending to represent their products – or being represented by their importer if they have one, or having product/literature displayed and sampled should get in touch with Dawn Lamara, senior International Business Executive Food & Drink, Trade & Investment – Scotland, Scottish Development International; Dawn.Lamarra@scotent.co.uk; Tel: 00 44 141 228 2398Mobile: 00 44 7776 227856, by close of play on Monday July 8 2013
