SUTHERLAND-BASED salmon producer Loch Duart announced today it has attracted investment from the private investment firm, Capricorn Investment Group LLC.

In a statement issued today, Loch Duart said the alliance will help the company build on its strong market position.

“Capricorn is a private investment firm that is aligned with the company’s ethics and committed to Loch Duart’s long-term future. This alliance will further strengthen the company’s financial base and offers opportunities to strengthen our commitment to sustainable aquaculture,” it said.

Loch Duart sells farmed salmon to leading restaurants and retailers in the UK and abroad. Based on the company ethos of sustainability and optimum fish welfare, the company’s name appears on menus around the world. The strength of the Loch Duart brand has helped forge some important export markets. A particularly strong niche for the company is the sushi trade. is published by Special Publications.
