INVERAWE Smokehouses, the Scottish producer of premium smoked products and hampers, has announced that respected food writer Sue Lawrence will help the firm develop new fish recipes on its behalf.

As a former BBC Masterchef winner and well-known food columnist, Sue will be working with the team at Inverawe Smokehouses at what Inverawe say is a particularly exciting time in the company’s evolution.

During the last year, Inverawe has reported record sales throughout the UK and abroad, and this has led to the recent refurbishing of the smokehouse at Inverawe’s base in Taynuilt, Argyll.

After winning Masterchef in 1991, Sue became a regular contributor to the Sunday Times Style magazine and now writes a regular column for Scotland on Sunday and Scotland magazines. She has also written for Sainsbury’s magazine, Woman & Home, Country Living, BBC Good Food magazine and is the author of ‘Sue Lawrence’s Scottish Kitchen’ and the award-winning ‘Scots Cooking’.

Sue met Rosie Campbell Preston, owner of Inverawe Smokehouses, quite recently and found that they shared a love of really good, traditionally produced authentic foods. Rosie asked Sue if she would help out by devising some new, fresh ideas for Inverawe’s fish products.

Inverawe Smokehouses has been owned and run by Robert and Rosie Campbell-Preston for 30 years. The firm employs around 30 people and its product range includes smoked salmon, trout and a range of premium fish and meat products, with accompaniments. is published by Special Publications. Special Publications also publish FISHupdate magazine, Fish Farmer, the Fish Industry Yearbook, the Scottish Seafood Processors Federation Diary, the Fish Farmer Handbook and a range of wallplanners.
