Scotland: consultation paper responses on defining marine boundaries for fish farming published Published:  01 June, 2006

THE Scottish Executive has published a summary report on responses to the consultation paper ‘Defining Marine Boundaries for Fish Farming’.

This sought views on the Executive’s proposals for the designation of marine boundaries in coastal and transitional waters, as defined in the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003 (“the WEWS Act”), for marine fish farming development.

The consultation paper was issued on 31 October 2005. Responses were

requested by 20 January 2006. However, some representations were received after this date and accepted for the purposes of analysis.

The Scottish Executive says it is grateful to those who responded to the consultation paper Defining Marine Boundaries for Fish Farming. This summary report is intended to provide feedback on the results of the consultation, the main issues that have been raised, and to provide information on the next steps.

In total 28 responses were received. See the published document on the Scottish Executive website.
