TOTAL profits for the Norwegian fish farming industry reached approximately 550 million NOK (£48 million) in 2004 it was announced today (Wednesday) at Aqua Nor, the international fish farming exhibition which is taking place in Trondheim, Norway, throughout this week.

The figures, released by Norway’s Fisheries Directorate, also showed an increase of 11.8 per cent in the average sales price of salmon during the year and a 12.4 per cent rise in rainbow trout prices during the same period.

In addition, the Directorate reported a decrease in salmon production costs per kilo, which reduced from 16.02 NOK to 15.37 NOK during the year. is published by Special Publications.
